The summer sales are on. In fact, they’re almost over. So shop rails are gradually being replenished with autumn stock. Jumpers, jackets, trousers… Suddenly, the focus has shifted from light fabrics and short sleeves to chunky knits, warm jumpers, thick vests and long trousers.

Jackets
A proper autumn jacket should be wind and waterproof to survive the season’s surprise showers, gusts and storms. It should be constructed in a fabric that allows movement and lets your skin breathe.

Snap up one of the season’s must-have styles: a wick jacket in olive green, a long, camel coloured parka, or a belted trench coat.
Trousers
For men the summer to autumn transition isn’t major in the trouser department. But one thing’s certain – you’ll have to put those shorts away until next spring.

Jumpers
A jumper is key to keeping warm in the autumn months. They are the ultimate protective layer that you can slip on or off according to the weather.
